Table runner size guide: choosing a 108-inch runner

Choose a table runner by measuring your tabletop and the overhang you want. This guide compares a 108-inch runner on three table lengths.

Measure first, then choose the drop

Measure the tabletop end to end in inches. For equal overhang at both ends, use: runner length = tabletop length + twice the desired overhang. For a runner you already have, use: overhang at each end = (runner length minus tabletop length) divided by two.

The drop is a styling choice, not a universal fit rule. Check that it clears chairs, laps, children, pets and walkways. For a runner kept entirely on top of the table, choose a length shorter than the tabletop instead.

72-inch table: (108 - 72) / 2 = 18 inches of overhang at each end.
84-inch table: (108 - 84) / 2 = 12 inches at each end.
96-inch table: (108 - 96) / 2 = 6 inches at each end.

A 108-inch runner is not a compact coffee-table accent. Measure your surface before buying; the examples do not promise a fit for every table or seating layout.

Choose the width and pieces you need
