A simple reset for a small desktop

You do not need a new desk to make your working corner more comfortable. Start by giving the objects you already use a clear place.

Clear one surface.

Move loose items aside and wipe the surface using care instructions suitable for its material. Separate what you use daily from occasional supplies and things that belong elsewhere.

Protect your working area.

Return your keyboard, notebook, or other essential tools first. Leave enough room for the task itself before choosing where storage should go.

Group by use.

Keep writing tools together and give small loose items one landing place. Avoid creating so many categories that putting an item away becomes a new job.

Give cables a route.

Identify the cables you need and remove unused ones. Keep ventilation openings and walkways clear. Follow the device manufacturer's instructions rather than tightly bundling power equipment or improvising electrical accessories.

Measure before adding storage.

Check the space left on the desk and the height below any shelf. A tray or caddy should support your routine, not occupy the place where you need to work.

Try the arrangement.

Use the desk for a normal session. Move anything that interrupts your reach or blocks a drawer. The useful arrangement is the one you can maintain, not the one with the most containers.
